Marie Dorothy Faussett, 88, went to her heavenly home Wednesday morning, October 3, 2024, at her residence in Indianapolis following an extended illness. She was born on, July 31, 1936, in Loretto, Texas, the daughter of Rufus and Viola Chandler.
Marie married the love of her life Rev. Freddie Thomas Faussett, Sr. on July 18, 1952, and he preceded her in death on March 13. 2004. Mrs. Faussett became a homemaker. She and her husband had pastored several churches in Indiana. She enjoyed playing Bingo, going out for coffee, shopping, and traveling, especially, to Florida to see other family members.
Surviving are her children, Sarah Faussett, Muncie, Mark Faussett (Angela), Indianapolis, Rebecca A. Broyles-Faussett, Connersville, IN, Patricia Fugate (Donald) Selma, IN, Shirley Faussett, Miami, Florida, Lee Roy Faussett, Tampa, Florida, Rebecca Jane Faussett, Anderson, IN and Maria Alice Faussett, Tampa, Florida area; eighteen grandchildren; twenty great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; several nieces and nephews.
Besides her husband of fifty-two years, Freddie, she is preceded in death by her parents; one son, Freddie Thomas Faussett, Jr.; one daughter, Kathrine (Kat) Marie Chambers; two sons-in-law, Douglass Chambers and William Lee Broyles; one brother, and three sisters.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, October 8, 2024, at 1:00 P.M. in Parson Mortuary with Pastor Duane Loveless officiating. Burial will follow at Tomlinson Cemetery.
Friends may call at Parson Mortuary on Tuesday, October 8, 2024, from 11:00 A.M. until the time of the service.
