Marilyn (Furry) Ford

Marilyn J. Ford, 95, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, January 8, 2023.  She was born March 21, 1927, in Toledo, Ohio the daughter of Thomas Furry and Charlotte Furry Writtenhouse.  She moved to Muncie at a very young age and attended school in Muncie.

After high school she was employed at Indiana Bell Telephone Co. as a long distance operator.  She later married Frank Ford and left her job to be a home maker, a job she did very well.

Marilyn loved the Lord and was a strong Christian.  She served the Lord in every way she could thru her church serving the food pantry, blanket cubbard, and altar guild.  Marilyn loved her family and her home and was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.

Her hobbies were reading, cross stitch, and countless hours working in her flower beds.

Surviving are two sons, Frank (Margaret) Ford and John E. (Christina) Ford; four grandchildren Amy (Nate) Wilson, Allison (Zane) Alcorn, Richard (Nicole) Ford, and Brian (Christa) Ford; also nine great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 75 years, Frank Ford; two brothers Richard Furry and Keith Furry; her parents Thomas Furry and Charlotte Furry Writtenhouse.

Services will be held on Monday, January 16 in the chapel at Gardens of Memory Cemetery, North of Muncie at 1:00PM with a visitation half an hour prior to the service.  Burial will follow in Gardens of Memory.
