Marilyn Scott Obituary

Marilyn A. (Doyle) Scott, 87, went home to be with her Lord, on Tuesday morning, July 6, 2021 at her residence follow an extended illness.  She was born on March 17, 1934 in Muncie the daughter of Carl A. and Rose Emma (Springman) Doyle.

Marilyn graduated from Selma High School in 1952 and later married the love of her life M. Gene Scott on September 14, 1953, in DeSoto and he preceded her in death on September 21,2013.  Mrs. Scott became a homemaker.  She was a member of the Muncie Eagles Arie #231, the Happy Cruisers Camping Club and the DeSoto United Methodist Church.  Some of her favorite things to do were, collecting recipe books, dancing, playing bingo and other card games.  She reserved playing crochet for after sharing homemade ice cream at family gatherings.  Marilyn mostly, cherished the moments she spent with her children and grandchildren.

Survivors include her children, Debbie Perrault, Indianapolis, Deanna Parris (Sherry), Muncie, Ramon Scott (Debbie), DeSoto, Dana Miller, Parker City and Randy Scott (Jackie), Farmland; thirteen grandchildren; twenty-two great grandchildren; three-great, great, grandchildren; two sisters, Marjorie Small (Clyde), Parker City and Janie May, Muncie; several nieces and nephews and in-laws.

Besides her husband of 60 years, Gene, she is preceded in death by her parents; three brothers and one sister; one son-in-law, Duane Miller.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 10, 2021, 1:00 P.M. at the Parson Mortuary.  Pastors

Frank Oakman and Jennifer Weaver will officiate, with burial to follow at the Union Cemetery in Eaton.

Friends may call at the Parson Mortuary on Saturday, July 10, 2021 from 10 A.M. until time of service.  Parson Mortuary Cremation Center is entrusted with these arrangements.
