Marjorie Elaine Connerly, 93 of Muncie, Indiana, died early Saturday morning on January 24, 2026. A fighter until the end, she treasured spending time with her family more than anything else. Throughout her life, she was a devoted daughter, granddaughter, wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Marjorie believed in Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior, and she is now resting in peace in God’s eternal embrace.

Born on June 20, 1932 in Muncie, she was the daughter of Catherine L. (Nelson) Dalrymple and William F. Snyder. Marjorie was raised by her dearly beloved grandmother, Nondis (McFarland) Nelson. She was preceded in death by her grandmother and parents, as well as her step-father, Sam Dalrymple.

Marjorie was introduced to her husband, Donald Otto Connerly, in 1950 by her closest friend, Pat. Together, they worked hard to raise four children and build a life centered around family, friends, neighbors, and their pets in Muncie. They celebrated 65 years of marriage before Donald’s death in 2016. Even though we wanted more time with her, our family rejoices that Marjorie is now reunited with the love of her life whom she missed so terribly, as well as her cherished Dachshunds.

Marjorie worked for the Muncie Community Schools for 30 years and was the first Cafeteria Manager at North View Elementary School. She retired in 2001 after faithfully serving a generation of the city’s children. 

In addition to doting on her dogs, Marjorie loved tending to her plants and yard. She also painted many beautiful ceramic pieces, enjoyed collecting things and watching birds, and loved eating out for breakfast. She was a fierce and funny euchre player who never turned down a game—even playing several games with family this last Christmas. Reminiscing on the countless wonderful memories our family shares always made her laugh and smile.

Marjorie is deeply missed by her surviving family members: four children, Michael Connerly (Lori) of Hampton, GA; Linda Jones (Michael) of Yorktown, IN; David Connerly (Janet) of Nolensville, TN; Jo Roahrig (Brent) of Aledo, TX; two granddaughters, Michelle Jones-Haskell (Shaden) of Yorktown and Devynne Roahrig (Bernie) of Cincinnati, OH; and two great-grandsons, Chase and Dash Haskell.

Funeral services will be held at Parson Mortuary on Tuesday, February 3, 2026, at 12:00 p.m. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. until service time, and burial will follow at Gardens of Memory Cemetery.
