Marjorie Ruth Hershey, 77, passed away at IU Ball Memorial Hospital in Muncie, Indiana, on August 28, 2025.  Marjorie was born in Muncie on October 13, 1947, the daughter of Carl and Garnet (Edwards) Allen.
Following graduation from Muncie Central, Marjorie went on to work as a bank teller for Mutual Federal Bank.  She also raised two children, spending time with them and supporting their school activities.  She was known to the Yorktown High School band program as “Mama Hersh.”
Marjorie met the love of her life while attending church in Muncie and married David P. Hershey.  At the time of her passing, they had been married just shy of sixty years.  She was known as a loving woman who was a caregiver to her family.  She was active in the Church of God at Yorktown and was a Sunday school teacher and a Junior Church Leader.  She also arranged flowers for weddings and funerals for a time.
Marjorie is survived by her husband, David, a son, David Alan Hershey, a daughter, Wendy Hershey, grandchildren, Alexis, Kylie, and Benny, and six great-grandchildren.  In addition, she leaves behind three sisters, Patricia Allen, Mary Hayes, and Nancy Miller.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters, Judy Scroggs and Janice Whittenburg.
Funeral services will be on Thursday, September 4, 2025, at 1:00 PM at Parson Mortuary, 801 W. Adams Street, Muncie.  Friends may call on the family from 11:00 AM until the time of the service.
Burial will follow at Elm Ridge Cemetery in Muncie.
