Mary Louise (Reynolds) Richmond

Mary Louise Richmond, 95, passed away Friday evening February 19, 2021 at her residence following an extended illness.  She was born on January 10, 1926 in Muncie the daughter of Gola and Thelma (Dungan) Reynolds.

Mary graduated from Royerton High School in 1944 and later married the love of her life Martin Richmond on October 11, 1947 and he preceded her in death in 1986.   Mrs. Richmond had worked as a Teacher’s Aid for the Royalton Elementary School for 21 years prior to retiring in 1995.  She had also worked for a brief time for the Indiana Bell Telephone as a Telephone Operator, and was in supervision as well.    She was a member of the Center Chapel United Methodist Church in Royerton where she assisted with the Heavenly Angels Children’s Choir.  Mary was an exquisite cake decorator, a passionate crafter and loved growing flowers.   Mrs. Richmond enjoyed sudoku puzzles as well.

Survivors include, one daughter, Emily Richmond, Chesterfield; two sons, Gregory Richmond (Companion-Nelda Smith), Chesterfield and Marty Richmond, Muncie; daughter-in-law, Debra Richmond, Waterford, Connecticut; several nieces and nephews.      

Besides her husband of 39 years, Martin, she is preceded in death by one son, Joseph Richmond; her parents, four sisters, Emily Rollen, Sharon Shafstall, Frances Thornburg and Ruth Hefflin.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, February 25, 2021, 1:00 P.M. at the Parson Mortuary with Pastor Rusty Clements officiating.  Burial will follow at the Gardens of Memory Cemetery north of Muncie.

Friends may call at the Parson Mortuary on Thursday, February 25, 2021 from 12:00 P.M. until time of service.
