Marybelle Sanders, 97, of Muncie, Indiana, was born on May 18, 1928, in Muncie, Indiana, to Walter Felton and Edna Felton (Jones) Southworth. She passed peacefully in her sleep July 20, 2025, at her daughter's home.
Marybelle enjoyed many hobbies throughout her life. In her later years, painting ceramics with her friend Fran Reynolds and antiquing at stores and fairs were among her favorites. She continuously showed her love of children not only through her family but also at her daughter's daycare. In Her younger years she enjoyed riding motorcycles and hunting with her husband, camping, boating, quilting, and competing in dog shows. Marybelle was also a member of Selma Christ Global Methodist Church where she worshiped for many years.
Marybelle is survived by three daughters; Sandra S. Weems (Larry), Lenora Jane Mariage (Gary), and Eldonna Rae Webb; 8 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, and 27 great-great-grandchildren; along with several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband Eldon R. Sanders, her parents Walter Felton and Edna (Jones) Southworth, her stepfather, Merle Southworth; her husband, Eldon Ray Sanders; and her sister, Beverly Jane Blackmer (Joseph W.).
Visitation will be held at Parson Mortuary on Thursday, August 7, 2025, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. The funeral services will start at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, August 8, 2025, with an hour of visitation before services. Interment will follow at Gardens of Memory Cemetery.
