Mike Downing, 70 of Muncie, formerly of New Castle passed away on August 17, 2024. He was born November 29, 1953, in New Castle, Indiana to the late Gene Downing and Susan (Niles) Downing.

Mike grew up in Muncie and graduated from Muncie Central. He served in the US Navy, like his father and grandfather. He worked several jobs over the years which included New Castle Street Department, New Castle Water Co, Miller Tire, and Stuby Tire before retiring.

Mike was an avid race car fan and enjoyed going to the races with Seth and Tom. He loved spending time with his family and friends. He also enjoyed reading, listening to music, as well as, hassling whoever was around him for a smile.

Mike leaves behind to cherish his memory, daughter Gabby Downing Carter, grandson Seth Colburn, Mother Susan Downing, brothers Brent and Tom Downing, several nieces and nephews and lots of friends.

A memorial service for Mike will be held at 5:00p on Friday, September 6, 2024, at Union Chapel Church (Bldg. 2), in Muncie, Indiana with visitation from 3:00p-5:00p.
