Michael Troy Thomas, 54, of Hartford City, Indiana, passed away on February 8, 2025.  He was born in Muncie, Indiana, on July 19, 1970.

Michael graduated from Blackford County High School in 1988.  He was employed at Tyson and UTA while living in Bluffton, Indiana, before moving to Enid, Oklahoma, where he worked as a correctional officer at the Diamondback Correctional Facility. 

Michael’s laughter and loving heart will be missed by all that knew him.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Carrie (Kinze) Thomas, grandparents, Loren and Virginia Thomas, and Sam and Lola Rhodes, as well as a host of loving aunts and uncles.

He is survived by his wife, Dianna (Sargent) Thomas of Hartford City, sons, Matthew Nelson Thomas (Shauna), Enid, Oklahoma, and Jacob Michael Thomas.  Jacob is a special needs child who has lived with his sole caregiver, “Nana Brenda,” his entire life, in Bluffton, Indiana.  He also leaves behind his father, Loren Richard Thomas Sr. (Linda) of Hartford City, mother, Brenda Thomas, Bluffton, Indiana, sisters, Diane Schmidt (Corey), of Muncie, and Tamra Vincent (Adam), of Fishers, brothers, Loren “Richard” Thomas Jr (Tammy), of Bluffton, and Anthony Allen West, of Fort Wayne, and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 12, 2025, 4:00 PM, at The Garden of Gethsemane Church, 1201 W. McGalliard Road, Muncie, Indiana 47303.  Friends may visit from 2:00 PM until 4:00 PM the day of the service.
