Michael Anthony Welder

MUNCIE – Michael A. “Mike” Welder, age 64, Muncie, died Wednesday August 25, 2021 at home following an extended illness.  Born in Muncie October 14, 1956, he was a lifelong Muncie resident.  Mike served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War and was honorably discharged.  He worked as a mechanic at Cooper Tire, Machine Tooling, Duffy Tool & Die, and also worked for TK Construction at one time.  Mike enjoyed working on cars and cooking; he was a lifelong fisherman, and enjoyed campfires, music, concerts, and playing billiards.

Survivors include his mother: Nancy Welder, Muncie; the love of his life, girlfriend: Diana Gupton, Muncie; brother: Larry Welder, Muncie; sister: Glenna Welder, Muncie; niece: April McKenzie, Muncie; cousin: Tommy Welder (wife: Allison), Eaton, and his best friend: Kenny Sparks, Muncie.

He is preceded in death by his father: Charles J. Welder and a brother: Curtis A. Welder.

There will be no services; cremation was chosen.
