Michael “Mike” Joe Hendsel, 65, passed away surrounded by family on March 30, 2024, at his home in Muncie, following a long and hard battle with cancer. Mike was born on March 12, 1959, the son of Lowell and Norma Hendsel. He attended local schools and was a union roofer for the majority of his adult life.
Mike was known for encyclopedic knowledge of antiques, especially Ball jars and marbles. He was known for collecting antiques and had a marble collection that dated back to the very beginning of glass marble manufacturing. Mike also enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson, fishing, and camping with his wife, Deborah. There wasn’t anything he could not do!
He leaves behind his wife Deborah Hendsel, daughter Carrie Cole, step-daughter Amanda Goodman (James), grandchildren Eric Cole and Whitney Conley, as well as several step-grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. In addition, he is survived by his brothers, Allen and Mark Hendsel.
Mike was preceded in death by his parents, Lowell Hendsel and Norma Logan, step-father Bill Logan, and grandmother, Della Snodgrass.
Michael will be cremated at Parson Mortuary and Cremation Center, with no formal services.
