Nancy Bowden, age 90, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, April 27, 2024, following a brief illness at IU Ball Memorial Hospital. Nancy was born on March 18, 1934, in Eaton, Indiana, the daughter of Carl and Esther Reynolds.
Nancy attended school in Eaton, Indiana, where she graduated high school in 1952. After high school, she moved to Muncie, Indiana, and worked at Meadow Gold Ice Cream, where she met her husband, Dean Bowden. After raising three children, Nancy worked at Imperial Kitchens in Gaston, Indiana, for twenty-three years.
Nancy attended Full Gospel Temple, where she enjoyed singing and participating in the Joy Group activities. She also enjoyed playing games and cards with her children and grandchildren.
Nancy is survived by two daughters, Debbie VanNatter, and Lisa Bowden, and one son, Mike Bowden, two sisters, Carolyn Campbell and Marcia Dill, one grandson, Shawn Bowden, and three great-grandchildren, Damen Bowden, Hallie Bowden and Macie Bowden. In addition, she is also survived by two sisters-in-law, Betties summers and Jenny Young (David), two brothers-in-law, Gene Bowden and Toby Benson, and several nieces and nephews.
Nancy is preceded in death by her husband of 68 years, Dean, her parents, father and mother-in-law Ernest and Endia Bowden, one sister, Patty Schnitker, two sisters-in-law June Benson and Della Bowden, four brothers-in-law, Frank Schnitker, Emil Campbell, Harold Dill, and John Summers, and one son-in-law, Jerry VanNatter.
A private family funeral will be held with burial following.
