Norman Douglas Wendell, 70, Muncie, passed away Thursday, July 1, 2021 at his daughter’s home after battling pancreatic cancer. He was born August 11, 1950 in Winchester, Indiana, the son of Edgar and Elnora (Emmenegger) O’Brien.
He worked for Kellair-Engineering for over thirty years and later retired from Union City Non-Ferrous. Norman was a member of the Winchester Jaycees, an avid reader and a history buff. He loved cooking, gardening and sports, his favorite team being the Cincinnati Reds.
He was preceded in death by his father, Edgar Wendell; sister, Patsy; brothers, Dave and Joe; and his step-father, Charles O’Brien.
He leaves behind his mother, Elnora O’Brien; sister, Victoria (Burl) Weddle; daughters, Sarah Robison and Miranda Wendell; several nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great- grandchildren.
As per his wishes there will be no services and cremation will take place at Parson Mortuary Cremation Center.
Donations may be made in Norman’s name to Pancreatic Cancer Research or the Arbor Day Foundation to honor his memory.
