Pamela Ann (Seibold) Border Obituary

Pamela Ann Border (née Seibold), 77, passed away peacefully at her home after a lengthy illness on October 2, 2025, in the presence of her loving family.

Born in Muncie, Indiana, on December 19, 1947, to Leo and Marie Seibold, Pam lived in Muncie until 1991, when she and her husband, Dr. John Border, moved to Yorktown. Upon graduating from Southside High School in 1965, Pam began her career in health care as a phlebotomist and then served as a ward clerk at Ball Memorial Hospital. She earned her registered nursing degree from Anderson College in 1975. She then served as a cardiac care nurse for ten years before she took over as Advisor for Patient Affairs for Ball Memorial's new Patient Representative Program. While in that position, she worked with volunteers, several of whom were recognized with rewards from Governor Evan Bayh.  When Bayh created the Indiana Commission for Women in 1992, Pam was appointed the vice chair of the Health Care of Women subcommittee of the 17-member bipartisan group. In 2006, Pam and John served as vice chairs of the tremendously successful Ball Memorial Hospital Foundation's Annual Campaign and as vice chairs of the Charity Ball in 1981 and 1992. In her leisure time, she was a voracious reader, and she and John traveled the world together.

Survivors include her daughter Angela Brinson (husband, Martin), her son Andrew Miller, and her sisters Sally Elrod, Sondra Seibold, and Kathy Seibold. She was a loving grandmother to Nicholas (wife, Bria), Jeremy, Kennedy, Emma, JP, and Marlee, and devoted aunt to Amy Combs, Craig Elrod, and her great nieces and nephews. The family also wishes to thank Mendria Harris for her eight years of dedicated service to Pam. Pam was preceded in death by her husband, John, and her parents.

The family also wishes to extend their sincere appreciation to Heart to Heart Hospice (Olivia and Les), and to the amazing Senior Helpers (Jennifer, Una, Beth, Alexis, Adrian, Anna, Kendra, Lorie, Tiffany), along with Betty, who helped care for Pam from July of this year to her passing.

According to Pam's wishes, there will be no public service. She will be cremated, and in June of next year, the family will gather at Lake Monroe, where she and John spent many enjoyable vacations, to scatter her ashes as she did with John's ashes.
