Pamela Sue Pickering, 60, of Muncie, Indiana, was born on April 30, 1965, in Muncie, IN. She passed away peacefully in her sleep at home on Wednesday, Jan 14, 2026. 

Pam attended Muncie Southside High School, after she took a job at a local bowling alley where she worked as a bartender, an early role that perfectly suited her easygoing personality and gift for conversation. She later spent more than a decade working at Indiana Glass before deciding to return to school to pursue a career as a nursing assistant, a role that reflected her caring nature and desire to help others. 

Pam lived life with enthusiasm and a healthy sense of fun. She loved riding motorcycles, boating, playing pool, and throwing back a few "cold ones" with her husband and partner in crime of more than 30 years, Rick. When she wasn't out enjoying the sunshine, she could often be found with a book in hand, favoring historical fiction, legal thrillers, and suspense novels. Pam was also a football fan and could be heard (often loudly) cheering on the New England Patriots. Pam had a lifelong love for animals, treating every creature with gentleness and respect. 

Above all else, Pam loved her family. She was survived by her four children: Brandi Phipps (Josh), Christina Pickering (James), Brad Pickering (Misty), and Chad Pickering (Renee); twelve grandchildren who brought her endless joy; her siblings Brenda and Jerry, and many other family members and friends who will miss her. 

She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Rick; her parents, Robert and Thelma Townsend, all of whom she loved dearly. 

Visitation will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, January 21, 2026 at Parson Mortuary, followed by burial at 1:00 p.m. at Gardens of Memory.
