Patricia Ann Dakins, 79, passed away at The Woodlands of Muncie on Friday, May 17, 2024.  Patricia was born the daughter of Richard and Wanda (Clevenger) Brown, on March 20, 1945, in Muncie, Indiana. 

After graduation from Muncie Central High School, Patricia worked for Ball State University in the dietary department.  She was a hardworking, honest woman who was not afraid to tell you how she felt.  She was an incredible mother who took care of anyone in the family that needed help.  She enjoyed spending time gardening and found great joy in sharing the lives of her grandchildren.

Patricia is survived by her husband, James Dakins, stepson, Dustin Dakins, and grandchildren Dustin Dakins Jr, Derrick Dakins, Dario Dakins, Kory Carpenter, and Tyler Hines.  In addition, she leaves behind a sister Connie Hicks, nieces Debbie Grayson, Brandi Thomas, Courtney Williams, and Amy Cooper, special niece Madison Haver (Drew), and nephews Bub and Hugh Holding.

She was preceded in death by her parents, son, Chad Dakins, daughter, Lisa Jo Lee, step-daughter Dawnette Dakins, sister, Judy Raines, brother, Frank Valadingham, and nephew, Billy Grayson.

A private family burial will be held at Beech Grove Cemetery at a later date.
