Patricia (Pat) Joyce (Clark) Smith

Patricia (Pat) J. Smith, 76, passed away peacefully in her sleep early Wednesday morning, September 20, 2023, at the Indiana University Health Ball Memorial Hospital. She was born in Worley, Kentucky, and lived in and loved Albuquerque, New Mexico before finally ending her adventure in Muncie. Pat graduated from Muncie Southside High School in 1965.  Soon after she fell in love, married, and had four beautiful children with Richard (Dick) Smith.

In the early 80’s she became a Certified Nursing Assistant (C.N.A.).  She worked for The Waters of Yorktown where she made many friends and pulled many a prank on and with those friends.  In 2017, she retired and enjoyed the rest of her days living with her granddaughter, Kiersten Johnson.  Pat did not know how to whisper, and always spoke her mind, never failing to make you laugh with her or her ornery ways.  Apart from sitting out on the porch, watching The Bold and the Ugly (as she called it), talking avidly to her daughter Mandy Smith about how she could get “lots of worlds” on Facebook, ultimately Pat loved. When she loved, she was not loud about it but, you always knew.  Whether it be family, friends, or her three stooges (her cats).  Pat was one to be remembered.

Pat was preceded in death by her husband Richard Smith, Sr., Oreeda Foster (mother), Lester Clark (father), Teresa A. Smith (daughter) Richard E. Smith (son), Michael D. Smith (son), Jack Mitchell (brother), and Penny Denny (sister).

She is survived by her daughter, Mandy Smith, Kiersten Johnson (granddaughter), Christopher Smith (grandson), Noah Stidam (grandson), Kaleb Smith (grandson) (partner Autumn Alley), Ethan Smith (grand-son), and John “MN” Flowers (partner Robin Flowers) along with several cousins, nieces & nephews and great-grandchildren.

The family will be having a celebration of life with close family and friends, the date of the celebration to be announced.  Parson Mortuary Cremation Center is entrusted with these arrangements.
