  Phyllis A. Brown, 82, was called home to her Heavenly Father, Tuesday, September 10, 2024, surrounded by loved ones. She was born on March 19, 1942, in Muncie, to William Oscar and Dorothy Phyllis Newton (Ricks).
   Phyllis graduated from Muncie Central High School in 1960. She worked various places throughout the Muncie community but served the longest as the Director of the Muncie PAL (Police Athletic League) Club for over 15 years. She dedicated herself to the betterment of the youth across the community, having a direct influence on hundreds of families. Phyllis was one of the founders of A Better Way in Muncie, before becoming a Life Insurance and Securities Broker for the Independent Order of Forrester’s Association. She enjoyed crocheting, sewing, and reading. Phyllis was a member of the Southside Church of the Nazarene, where she was involved in various Church activities throughout the years. Phyllis was extremely family oriented and treasured the times she could spend with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren the most. Phyllis led with a servants heart and cared for everyone in need, thus creating multiple familial relationships alongside blood relatives listed below.
   Phyllis is survived by her son, Rev. Todd (DaRhonda) Brown, Yorktown; daughter, Denise (Joseph) Williams, Muncie; two brothers, Phillip (Sarah) Newton, Killeen, TX; William (Alvena) Newton, Muncie; one sister, Regina Allen, Muncie; seven grandchildren, Benjamin (Amy) Brown; Brittney (Luke) Wellman; Danielle (Aubrey) Bradford; David Brown; Joseph Brown; Jordan (Tiffany) Brown; Anna Brown; and several nieces, nephews and great grandchildren.
   Phyllis is preceded in death by her son, Charles Robert Brown, and her parents.
   Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 14th, 2024 at 11:00 A.M. at the Southside Church of the Nazarene with Pastor Neal Peterson officiating. Burial will follow at Elm Ridge Memorial Park Cemetery.
   Friends and loved ones are encouraged to attend the visitation hours, beginning at 9:30 A.M. until time of service, on Saturday September 14th, 2024 at the Southside Church of the Nazarene; 3500 W. Fuson Rd. Muncie, IN 47302.
