Ralph F. Wormer, 71, passed away Wednesday evening February 5, 2020 at the Parker City Health Care Center following an extended illness. He was born on December 25, 1948 in Muncie, the son of Walter and Mettie (Boyer) Wormer.
Ralph graduated from Muncie Central High School in 1966 and proudly served in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Vietnam War Era as a Corporal with the 4th replacement Co. Staging Battalion Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton. He married the love of his life Beverly (Strong) Wormer on May 3, 1972 in Selma and she survives. Mr. Wormer had worked for Chevrolet Muncie and the Marion Metal Center as a skilled tradesman for 20 years prior to his retirement in 2015. He was a member of the AmVets, the UAW Union Locals, #499 & 977. Enjoyed Golfing and fishing in tournaments. Ralph treasured the times he could spend with his family and friends the most!
Besides his wife of 48 years, Beverly, he is survived by one son, Brian Wormer (Paula Gordon), Muncie; one daughter, Angel Wormer (Chuck Brooks), Muncie; five grandchildren, Brock, Alexus and Brianna Wormer and Michael and Haylee Haffner; two great grandchildren, Ethan and Gabriella Haffner; one sister, Joyce Condon, Des Moines, Iowa; several nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents; two brothers.
Cremation is being done at the Parson Mortuary with a gathering of friends and family on Saturday February 29, 2020, 2:00 P.M. at the AmVets Post #12 located at 7621 N. State Rd 3 Muncie, IN (Royerton) 47303.
