Ralph L. Phipps

Ralph L. Phipps, 76, passed away late Monday evening, April 24, 2023, at the Indiana University Health Ball Memorial Hospital following a brief illness.  He was born on March 4, 1947, in Muncie the son of LoMoan and Oringia Elsie (Dobbs) Phipps.

Ralph attended Muncie Community Schools and later worked for Wearly Monuments as an engraver for 47 years before his retirement in 2012.  Mr. Phipps was a member of the Teamsters Union.  He enjoyed Bible reading and going to garage sales.  Ralph especially treasured the time he could spend with his family.

Survivors include one daughter, Kim Vogely (Michael), Columbia City; one son, Robert A. Phipps, Muncie; six grandchildren, Benjamin E. Vogely, Zoey K. Vogely, Jessie Lee Phipps, Teanna Phipps, Christian Lowell (Eric), and, Demetrius Ryan Loveless; two sisters, Betty Garrett (John), Yorktown and Jerrie Waller (Randy), Anderson; several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Arthur, and Junior Phipps; one sister, Sue Rodgers and one grandson Terry.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 29, 2023, at 1:00 P.M. at Parson Mortuary with Rev. John Michael Garret & Celebrant John Garrett officiating.   Burial will be at Elm Ridge Memorial Park Cemetery of Muncie;
