Ray Thomas Rice II

Ray Thomas Rice II, 50, passed away early Tuesday evening at his residence following a brief illness.  He was born on May 23, 1971 in Muncie the son of Ray Thomas Rice and Judy Ann (Jones) Rice-Smith.    

Ray attended Muncie Southside High School and later worked as a flooring specialist laying carpet and tile for over 30 years.  He enjoyed playing his guitar, canoeing and hanging out with his friends and family members.  He was very family oriented and enjoyed playing pool with them as well.  He always wanted to see the ocean and never got the opportunity to do so.

Survivors include one daughter, Jazmine Rice, Farmland; one granddaughter, Emma R. Childress, Farmland; his mother, Judy Smith (step-father-Lonny Smith), Muncie: two sisters Brittany Overbay (Bobby) and Katina Cox (Jerry), both of Muncie; four brothers, Brock Smith and Tony Smith (Darlene), both of Muncie; Travis Rice (Theresa Jordan), Drexel, Missouri, Lonny Smith, Jr. (Amy), Florida; a special nephew, Blake Smith; several other nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by one daughter, Jayden Rice on October 28, 2019; his father, Ray Thomas Rice I and his sister, Melissa Smith.

Graveside service will take place at the Elm Ridge Memorial Park Cemetery on Tuesday February 9, 2021 at 1:00 P.M.   A celebration of life ceremony will follow later that day at the Northside Assembly of God church 711 W. McGalliard Rd. Muncie, IN 47303.
