Rebecca Mae Vaughn, 72, passed away on December 28, 2024, at Glen Oaks Health Campus in New Castle, Indiana, surrounded by her family. Rebecca was born on October 14, 1952 in Muncie, Indiana, the daughter of Clement and Genevie Spence.
Rebecca graduated from Indiana University Kokomo with a degree in nursing and spent most of her nursing career in Tennessee. She enjoyed watching television, movies and listening to music. She was well known as being the person in the room to make you laugh, and was at times a “little pistol” by her family and friends. She was well liked by not only the other residents at Glen Oaks, but the staff as well.
She is survived by her son, Morris Ellenburg, daughters, Angela Patterson (Mike), and Amy Stackhouse (Brian), grandchildren, Ethan, Alina, Evan (Justice), Sam (Emma), and Parker, great-grandchildren, Corbin, Cooper, Libby, Briggs, and Emery. She is also survived by her siblings, Joyce (Doran), John (Bonnie), and Doug (Mary), and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Carson Vaughn, brothers, Gene and Clem, and a sister, Janice.
Per Rebecca’s wishes, she will be cremated and there will be no formal services.
The family would like to thank all of the staff at Glen Oaks Health Campus for not only their incredible care of their mother, but the friendship and love that was directed towards Rebecca.
