Richard S. Brown III

Richard “Rick” S. Brown III, 71 passed away Thursday morning March 18, 2021 at his residence following an extended illness.  He was born on July 12, 1949 in Muncie the son of Richard S. and Pearl (Harty) Brown II.

Rick graduated from South Side High School in 1967 and later married the love of his life, Brinda (Stevens) Brown on February 14, 1970 in Muncie and she survives.  Mr. Brown had worked for Borg-Warner as a machine operator for approximately 12 years before his retirement.  He was also an ordained Minister.  Mr. Brown had pastored the Heavenly Hope Church for several years and also filled in at the Ashgrove Church.   To say he enjoyed fishing is an understatement!  Rick treasured the times he could spend with his children and grandchildren the most!

Besides his wife of 51 years, Brinda, he is survived by one son, Daniel Brown (Tasha), Hartford City; three grandchildren, Brittany Thornburgh (Avery), Rebekah Brown and Daniel Brown II all of Hartford City; two brothers, Kenny Brown (Wendy) and Michael Brown, both of Muncie; one sister, Patty Ann Brown, Muncie; several nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by one son, Richard S. “Rick” Brown in 2012; his parents; one sister, Judy Raines.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday March 23, 2021, 1:00 P.M. with Pastor William Harty officiating.  Burial will follow at the Elm Ridge Memorial Park Cemetery.  Parson Mortuary Cremation Center is entrusted with these arrangements.

Friends may call Parson Mortuary on Tuesday March 23, 2021 from 12:00 P.M. until time of service.
