Robert Brown Jr, 87, of Muncie, Indiana, passed away at IU Ball Memorial Hospital on January 31, 2026. Bob was born on March 13, 1938, the son of Robert and Bertha (Barber) Brown in Ashland, Kentucky.
Following graduation from high school, Bob worked for Nabisco Corporation for thirty-three years. After retiring from Nabisco, he worked at the Albany Golf Club and at Hoosier Park Casino with Wagering 101. He loved working the Kentucky Derby, playing golf, and was a proud Indiana snowbird, splitting his time between Indiana and Florida. Bob also worked for several years at the Delaware County Fairgrounds, coordinating food vendors for the activities held there.
Bob had a wonderful sense of humor and enjoyed making people laugh. Everyone who met him considered him a friend. He was a kind, caring person whom everyone loved and will miss greatly.
Bob is survived by two daughters, Kimberly Hancock, Delton, MI, and Melody Burris, Hickory, NC; one son, Mike Brown (Terri), Albuquerque, NM; and three sisters, Debbie Brown, Brenda Miller, and Linda Miller, all of Ashland, KY. In addition, he leaves behind his grandchildren, Christopher Lare, Lauren Brown, Dillon Brown, and Amy Nakamine, and his dear friend and caregiver, Carolyn Jones.
He was preceded in death by his wife of forty-six years, Sarah Brown, his parents, Robert Sr. and Bertha Brown, two brothers, Jack Brown and Bill Brown, three sisters, Peggy Meade, Mary Lou Conley, and Sandy Patton, and a son-in-law, David Hancock.
Per his wishes, Bob is to be cremated, and there will be a celebration of life in his hometown of Ashland, KY, at a later date.
