Robert Taylor

Robert Taylor, 58, went home to be with the Lord on May 14, 2026, at his residence.

Robert was born in Graham, Texas, to Hazel Mae Taylor and Harlan Keith Taylor. He graduated from Graford High School and proudly served in the National Guard Reserves. Above all else, Robert loved his children and cherished the time he spent with family and friends.

Robert was a man who truly embraced life and freedom. He loved fishing, camping, mountain climbing, back-road adventures, and spending time outdoors. Whether he was building tables, chairs, coffee stands, working on computers and electronics, repairing cars, or enjoying his favorite games, Robert always kept his hands busy creating and fixing things. He had a wonderful sense of humor and was known for making people laugh with his jokes and easygoing personality.

Some of Robert’s happiest memories were spent on the water. He loved catching gar and catfish in any river he could find and enjoyed boating, canoeing, swimming, and fishing whenever possible. He took pride in cleaning and cooking his catch, and many family stories were born from those outdoor adventures. Robert had what many described as a gypsy soul; he loved being on the road and exploring wherever life led him.

Robert was strong, resilient, and determined. Even after losing fingers in an accident earlier in life, he never allowed it to slow him down. He continued building, creating, and working with remarkable strength and perseverance with his nubby hands.

Music brought Robert great joy. He especially loved Britney Spears, whom he jokingly referred to as his celebrity crush. Two of his favorite songs were “Oops!... I Did It Again” and “Dime in the Jukebox,” and he never missed a chance to dance when they came on.

His daughter Kathleen remembers many treasured moments with her father. Whenever Robert would visit Kathleen and her brother Brandon, he often arrived with boxes of candy bars such as Butterfingers and Snickers, jars of cherries, and sometimes even surprise gifts like bicycles. Kathleen fondly recalls hiding behind the door to scare him when he came home. Robert would scoop her up, spin her around in circles, call her his princess, and present her with a special golden princess necklace.

One favorite family memory was a camping trip with Kathleen and Brandon, where they caught gar together. Robert and Brandon cooked the fish afterward and playfully teased Kathleen about trying it, insisting it tasted like chicken. These moments of laughter, adventure, and togetherness remain cherished memories.

Robert is survived by his girlfriend, Robin; his daughter, Kathleen Lynn Taylor (mother, Jennifer Allison Hill); his son, Jared Kendall Grayson (mother, Geraldine Grayson); his sister, Hazell Moore; and his brothers, Jim Taylor, Chad Taylor, and Billy Taylor.

He was preceded in death by his son, Brandon Kyle Taylor; his parents, Hazel Mae Taylor and Harlan Keith Taylor; and his brother, Greg Taylor.

Robert will be remembered for his adventurous spirit, his humor, his craftsmanship, his love of the outdoors, and the deep love he had for his family. Though he will be greatly missed, the memories he created and the lives he touched will remain forever in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
