Robert Calvin Hartman, 82, left this world on, November 13, 2023, at his home with his granddaughter Destiney and brother Billy by his side. Robert was born on December 3, 1940, the son of John C. Hartman and Thelma Marie Hartman in Muncie.   Robert served his country in the Indiana National Guard.  Mr. Hartman had worked on the Norfolk & Southern railroad as a track maintenance worker for 20 years before his retirement in 1998.   On November 16, 1961, he married the love of his life Velma I. Hartman, and she preceded him in death earlier this year.  He attended the Church until he became too ill to attend.  He enjoyed shopping especially in grocery shopping.

Robert had six children, Robert C. Hartman, Jr. (Rachel), Henry Hartman, Kenneth Hartman (Joel), Lisha Hartman, Douglas Hartman (Lucinda), Mary Tilley (Sam); thirteen grandchildren, Angie Hartman, Misty LaForce, Russell Hartman, Destiney Buck, Holly Friddle, Kenneth Keys, Paige Ann Hartman, Stephane Hope, Brian Hartman, Jack Monroe, Judd Monroe, Cheryl Lambert, and Terry Sailors; thirty-two great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren and one adopted son Jimmy Carol; one brother, Billy Hartman (Roma); several nieces and nephews.

Robert will meet his wife Velma on the other side of the moon to stroll across heaven where they will meet up with their son Henry and grandchildren, Angie, Paige, TJ, and son-in-law, Eugene Hahn, his parents, and many siblings.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, November 20, 2023, at 12:30 P.M. at Parson Mortuary with Pastor Ed Ensley officiating.  Burial will follow at Beech Grove Cemetery.  

Friends may call at Parson Mortuary on Monday, November 20, 2023, from 11:30 A.M.  until the time of service.
