Ronald K. Wilson, 70, of Muncie, IN, passed away peacefully on March 24, 2025, surrounded by his family. He was born on October 20, 1954, in Jamestown, TN, to Lola (Wilson) Slaven.
Ronald graduated from Chrysler High School in 1972 and began his career working in retail at Father & Son Shoes, Gill Bros. Furniture & Marsh Supermarkets, before joining Cowan Community Schools as the Transportation Director, where he spent the next 23 years working with his “Bus Family” until retiring in 2022.
Ron was known for his immense love for his wife, children, and grandchildren. He loved spending time in his garage working on classic cars/trucks or just tinkering around. He also enjoyed bowling & golf, where he met an abundance of great friends over the years. Ron enjoyed going to cruise-ins with his family and friends, attending swap meets with his brother, Don, listening to his brother, Eddie, and nephew, Michael, play bluegrass gospel music, and telling everyone the latest Ron joke! Ron loved to make people laugh/smile, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and endless stories/jokes no one will ever forget!
Ronald is survived by his loving wife, Deborah J. Wilson, 2 children: Brian Wilson (Natasha) and Reah Oswalt; 10 grandchildren: Ashlynne Wilson, Airien Ooten (Hayden), Kelsee Wilson, Katlynn Wilson, Mark Wilson, Kiera Wilson, Keith Wilson, Briana Burton, Bethany Burton and Braelyn Burton; 3 bonus grandchildren: Jordan, Landon & Jazmyn; 8 great-grandchildren: Abriella, Greyson, Willow, Hadalynne, Kiestan, Azdynne, DaKari and Lawson (plus 2 more on the way); 1 sister: Brenda White; 3 brothers: Don Wilson (Sandra), Eddie Slaven (Chris), David Slaven (Jennifer), many nieces and nephews; a host of many special friends and his fur baby, Sophie Girl.
Ronald was preceded in death by his mother and step-father, Lola & Knox Slaven, in-laws; Montell & Sherri Davis, Harold Harnish, sister-in-law, Monna Herbert, and brother-in-law, John White.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Cowan Jr/Sr High School for family and friends to share and remember on Saturday, April 12, 2025, from 2:00 pm – 5:00 pm with a special eulogy given by brother, Eddie Slaven, starting at 5:00 pm. The family asks everyone to wear Tennessee Orange or your favorite Vols attire in honor of Ron.
