Samuel "Slammin’ Sammie" Robert Roe, 51 left this life Wednesday afternoon at Ball Memorial Hospital following a brief illness. He was born in Joliet, Illinois; the son of Samuel and Shelley (Foley) Roe.
Sam graduated from Muncie Central High School in 1991. He had worked as a general laborer for several factories in the Muncie area. Most recently, he had been working in construction trades as he had done throughout most of his life off and on. Sam enjoyed riding his Harley and was very people-oriented. He loved being surrounded by his friends and family telling jokes, drinking a cold beer, and being outdoors. To say he loved having a “good time” would be an understatement!
Survivors include two daughters, MacKenzi Roe (Scott), Tampa, Florida; and Kelsee Eviston (Willie), Losantville, Indiana; mother, Shelley Roe, Industry, Texas; two brothers, Tim Kane (Angie), Bourbonnais, Illinois; and Brian Roe, Muncie, Indiana; one sister Amy Yoder (Randy), Cypress, Texas; former spouse, Christy Bibbs (Marc), Muncie, Indiana; granddaughter, Harper Eviston, Losantville, Indiana; several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father.
