Sandra K. Owens Obituary

Sandra K. Owens, 77, passed away at IU Ball Memorial Hospital on November 9, 2025.  Sandy was born on August 12, 1948, in Evansville, Indiana, the daughter of James R. and Ruby (Youngblood) Owens.


Following high school, Sandy attended Ball State University, obtaining a degree in Architecture.  Over the years, she was a civil engineer as well as an architect.  She designed many buildings in Muncie and Indianapolis, and the rest stops along Highway 65. 


Sandy was a member of Full Gospel Temple for over thirty years.  She was a Missionary and hosted and adopted children in Kenya, the Philippines, and Haiti.  She was a strong supporter of rape and domestic abuse/violence victims, volunteering at many shelters and supporting A Better Way in Muncie, Indiana.  She was also a talented artist who spread God’s word through her artwork.


She is survived by her sister, Roberta Goodwin of Florida, and a host of nieces, nephews, and family in Crown Point, Indiana, as well as three sons in Nairobi, Kenya: Danny, David, Simon, and Paul.
