Obituary

Scotty Joe Cooper, 76, passed away Tuesday, April 5, 2022.

Scotty was born April 5, 1946, to Willard Cooper and Samaria Williams. Scotty was a family man first and foremost. He treasured his time with his children, grandchildren, and wife. He also made friendship look easy and natural. His grandchildren were always amazed that he seemed to know someone wherever they ventured with him.

Scotty worked for General Motors for 39 years. He attended Butler, Ball State and Wesleyan University.  After retiring, he spent many hours volunteering in the community in support of Seniors. He loved golfing and considered Maplewood Golf Course his second home.

Surviving Scotty are his loving wife of 45 years, Susie Cooper, daughter Carol (Lee) Dingle of Indianapolis, son Clay (Sharon) Cooper of Chicago, son Scott (Sharon) Cooper of Plymouth, and son Mitch Cooper of Muncie. He was blessed with 10 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren; Christopher McGee, Colin Dingle, Lillian Dingle, Quin Cooper, Kendall Cooper, Melanie Cooper, Jessie Cooper, Austin Cooper, Caleb Cooper, Caden Cooper, Arora McGee, and Austin Cooper Jr.

Scotty is also survived by his two sisters, Sonda (Joe) Taylor and Sheila Cooper. There are also many dearly loved family and friends who will miss Scotty.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Willard George Cooper and Samaria Williams Cooper, as well as his parents-in-law, Louis and Kathleen Jeep and brother-in-law, Stevan Jeep.
