Sheila Rae Cowley, 74, passed away at IU Methodist Hospital, Indianapolis, Indiana, on December 12, 2025, following a sudden illness.  Shelia was born on June 11, 1951, along with her twin sister, Shelly Kay, in Muncie, Indiana, the daughter of Mac and Rosa (Cox) McFadden.

Sheila attended Muncie Central High School and worked as a server at Szechuan Garden for twenty years.  She married Carl Cowley after high school.

Sheila was a kind-hearted, gentle, caring woman who loved animals, especially cats.  It was said that she was never mad at anyone.  She lived in Muncie her entire life, enjoyed sewing, was a very good cook, and was known for her homemade chicken pot pies.

She is survived by her older sister, Joyce Brand, her twin sister, Shelly Hall, nieces, Melinda Brown, Shawna Sevier (Mark), Virginia Maxwell, and Kathy Lehman, and her nephews, Bryan Brand (Betty) and Todd McFadden.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Carl, a son, Michael McFadden, two brothers, Mac McFadden Jr, and Obie McFadden, and a niece, Gloria Tarr.

Per Sheila’s wishes, she will be cremated with no formal services.
