Shirley C. Rosinski Obituary

Shirley Cleone Rosinski (Temple), 78, passed away from this earthly life to be with her Lord and Savior after a long illness on Thursday, August 7th.  She was the steadfast, loving matriarch of a large, diverse family that included both children of her blood and all who she mothered in her long life.  She is preceded in death by her mother, father, 2 brothers, two ex husbands, a grandson, a granddaughter, and many others within her reach of whom she shared kinship and soulful bonds.

Born January 2, 1947 to Herman Temple and Mary Temple (Eaton) in Anderson, IN, she moved to Muncie, IN during childhood where she lived most of her life.  Shirley attended Muncie schools, and fought through very difficult life circumstances in her youth to make the best life for herself with her younger siblings Loren (Fred), Wayne, and Gloria (Jean).  Into adulthood, she brought into this world 6 children: Mark, Tina, Michelle, Sherry, Laurie, and Johnnie for whom she gave every bit of her being to love, nurture, and protect.

As a non-traditional student while providing for her children, Shirley later earned an Associate’s Degree from Ivy Tech in Business Administration to better their lives.  She worked for over 20 years for ComNet Answering Service in Muncie, first as an operator and later working her way up to Operations Manager of the company.  Despite illnesses and limitations, Shirley worked in this same line of work right up until her passing.  She was a problem solver, and sought to do so for everyone professionally and personally, even if it meant endless self-sacrifice.

Shirley’s passions in life included cooking, gardening, reading, retail therapy (she loved her clothes!), music and singing both for pleasure and professionally as she worked singing Patsy Cline, country, and other songs around the Midwest later in her life.  She loved to travel, although never quite got to do so as much in her life as she had dreamed.  Shirley was a strong Christian, and passed away with the firm belief that her soul would live in the Kingdom of Heaven with all she once had known and loved.  It is comforting for all who knew her, that she’s finally at rest.

Shirley is survived by her 6 aforementioned children, 13 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren, 4 nieces and nephews, many cousins, and hundreds of friends and acquaintances in which she impacted in their lives.
