Shirley Terry, 82, left for her heavenly home, late Tuesday evening, August 13, 2024, at the Morrison Woods Health Campus following an extended illness. She was born on June 7, 1942, in Muncie the daughter of Lloyd and Ruth A. (Pence) Atkins.
Shirley graduated from Central High School in 1960 and later married Earl Dawson Collier who preceded her in death and then she married Croford Terry who also preceded her in death. Mrs. Terry became a Homemaker and would work as a Substitute Cafeteria Worker for Muncie Community Schools. She had been a member of the 23rd St. Church of Christ of Christian Union Church and enjoyed Bible reading and traveling to the Smoky Mountains.
Survivors include two daughters, Connie Neal (Arnold), Muncie and Beth Huntsman(Larry), New Castle; three grandchildren, Nathan Neal and Craig Upchurch, both of Muncie and Jason Neal (Julie), Gaston; two step-children, Cathy Glass (Jim), Anderson and Ranzie Terry (Julie), Muncie; five step-grandchildren and five step-great-grandchildren; one brother, Lloyd Wayne Atkins (Carolyn), Frostproof, Florida; one sister-in-law, Sherry Atkins, Frostproof, Florida; former son-in-law, Dennis Upchurch, Muncie; several nieces and nephews.
Besides her two husbands Earl and Croford, her parents preceded her in death; one brother, Jerry Atkins; and one stepdaughter, Linda Gardner Terry.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, August 21, 2024, at 1:00 P.M. Parson Mortuary with Pastor Dale Wheeler officiating. Burial will follow at Tomlinson Cemetery in Muncie.
Friends may call at Parson Mortuary on Wednesday, August 21, 2024, from 11:30 A.M. until the time of the service.
