Sigumond R. Anacker Obituary

Sigumond Ray Anacker, 88, passed away peacefully on December 18th 2025, surrounded by those who loved him. Born on March 6, 1937, in Winchester, Indiana, Sigumond spent most of his life in Muncie, where he built a legacy of hard work, service, and generosity.

Sigumond worked on the railroad before proudly serving his country as an E5 Sergeant in the United States Army. After his military service, he began a long and dedicated 37-year career at General Motors. He was known for his strong work ethic, loyalty, and dependability.

Outside of work, he found joy in the outdoors. He loved fishing and hunting, often planning trips with friends and cherishing the peace and companionship those moments brought. As time went on, a new and treasured chapter in his life unfolded—one filled with the joy of spending time with his grandsons, Anthony and Theo. Their presence brought him a sense of purpose, pride, and adventure that brightened his later years.

Sigumond spent his life caring for others without ever expecting anything in return. He always put his family first. His kindness, selflessness, and strength left a lasting impact on everyone who knew him.

He is survived by his daughter, Angelica (Anacker) Goltstein, and his son-in-law, Rob Goltstein; his grandsons, Anthony Ray Goltstein and Theo Joseph Goltstein; lifelong friends Bruce (Joyce) Crockett, Gary & Kay Weaver; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.

Sigumond was the last surviving of seven children, preceded in death by his siblings Lucy, Robert, Richard, Donald Jr., Wanelda, and Joseph. He was also preceded in death by his parents, Mary Margaret (Monroe) Anacker and Donald E. Anacker Sr.
