Stephenia Butterfield Obituary

Stephenia Eugenia (Schoeff)  Butterfield
Muncie - Stephenia Eugenia (Schoeff) Butterfield, 64, a beautiful, loving, full of inner strength, Godly example to us all, went to meet her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ face to face on July 28th, 2018 surrounded by her family and friends, after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Stephenia was born on April 16th, 1954, to Jack and Naomi Schoeff on Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio, Texas. Most of her time she was a resident of Muncie, IN where she was a proud graduate of Muncie Southside High School, class of 1972!
Stephenia was a believer and lover of people, she truly loved taking care of others and making sure everyone around her was fed, happy, and walking in harmony with each other. She was a proud member of the River of Life Church, and those that knew her best knew she was the happiest with her family and her church family in church services. She loved to hear the anointed choir sing and hear her favorite Pastor, John Martin, preach the word of God with so much passion and fire! Most of all Stephenia enjoyed spending time with her family, playing Euchre, cooking huge feasts, sharing with her friends on Facebook encouraging posts, and serving The Lord with praise, worship and endurance until the very end! Stephenia was a hard worker. She worked at the Donut Shop on Madison Street right after high school, GE in Fort Wayne, Indiana and then for 26 years she worked at Indiana Steel & Wire, where she had so many friends that she often still kept in contact with.
Stephenia is survived by her very best friend and her loving soul mate of 34 years, Donald Eugene Butterfield. Together they were able to accomplish so much, and in the end her husband was a source of strength to her while he was her care-giver! Stephenia had one son, Dustin Butterfield (wife-Heather) of Muncie, IN who was her pride and joy and who completed her world! She also had a step son, Donnie Butterfield and a step-daughter Teresa Yarger (husband-Shannon) whom she loved. She had 9 grandchildren, Joshua Butterfield (fiancée Alyssa), Quin Yarger, Joey Butterfield, Makenzie Yarger, Rylan Butterfield, Roman Butterfield, Kingston Butterfield, Piper Yarger and Wiloh Butterfield; one great grandchild, Eli Butterfield.
She is also survived by two brothers, Scott Schoeff (wife-Gay) Travlers Rest, SC, and Evertt Glenn Schoeff and two sisters, Michelle Harrell (husband-Eric), Muncie, IN and Melonie Barnes, Fort Wayne, IN. She also had two special "Sisters" in Law Connie Bowlin (husband-Jerry) and Judy Green. Stephenia had a huge extended family, several nieces and nephews who were all very special to her, a "daughter" Kathy Butterfield and a very special nurse, Denise Richards!
Stephenia was preceded in death by her parents, Jack Schoeff (father), Naomi Hottinger (mother), Ralph Hottinger (step father) and Cora Walker (mother-in-law), a sister Jennifer Hottinger and several other family and friends!
