Steven Wayne Hardin, Sr. left this life Wednesday morning, March 13, 2024, at his residence following an extended illness.  He was born in Muncie on April 10, 1959, the son of Carl and Mary Martha (Nunley) Hardin, Sr.

Steven attended Muncie Community Schools and later married the love of his life, Connie Sue (Ingram) Hardin on April 20, 1979, in Muncie and she survives.  After six years of service, Mr. Hardin was honorably discharged from the Indiana National Guard.  He had worked for the Sutliff Flooring and Installation Company as an installer for several years, retiring in 2023.  He enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family and loved to be outdoors whenever possible.

Besides his wife of 45 years, Connie, he is also survived by his children, Steven Wayne Hardin (Jessica), Jr. Muncie, Randall Hardin, Tampa, Florida, and Mary Sutliff (Jarrett), Ft. Wayne; five grandchildren, Lee Sutliff and Joel Sutliff, Gabby Schroeder (Fiancé’-Luke), Halie Padgett (Nick) and Caidence Hardin; two great-grandchildren, Joey and Jaxon Sutliff; one sister, Carla Ingram, Muncie; one brother, Rex Kreager, Muncie.

He was preceded in death by his parents and step-father, James Minton; one brother, Carl Jackson Hardin, Jr; and three sisters, Stella Haste, Terri Lasater, and Sharon Kim.

Funeral services will be held at Parson Mortuary on Wednesday, March 20, 2024, at 1:00 P.M.  Military honors will be rendered by the Delaware County Honor Guard.    Cremation will follow at a later date.
