Thomas (Tom) Darrell Beaty, 69, of Muncie passed away Friday, February 21, 2025, at Yorktown Manor with his loving wife and children by his side.  Tom was born August 3, 1955, in Muncie, the son of Ralph (Rat) and Marie P. Beaty. 

Tom is survived by his devoted wife of forty-four years, Sandra (Sandy) Kay Listenberger Beaty; two loving children, Benjamin (Ben) Thomas Beaty and Elizabeth (Liz) Marie Beaty; loving mother, Marie; brother, Dannie (Dan) R. Beaty (Kris); sister-in-law, Sharla F. Silbernagel (George); nephews Bradley (Brad) T. Beaty (Tristan), Stephan L. Moulton (Kari), Andrew I. Silbernagel, and Josiah B. Silbernagel; nieces, Leah R. Moulton, Christina J. Silbernagel Wilson (Britt), and Faith N. Silbernagel Medina (William); great-nephews, James D. Moulton, Luke N. Moulton, and Gabriel (Gabe) B. Beaty; lifelong friends Brian Huffman and Bruce Johnson, as well as many cousins and close friends.

Tom graduated from Muncie Southside, class of 1974, and retired from General Motors in 1996.  Tom was a longtime member of Riverview Church of the Nazarene and UAW Local 499.  Tom met the love of his life on April 23, 1980, and they married on November 29, 1980.

Tom was a survivor, having overcome the challenges of a TBI at the age of 13 and diabetes when he was 15.  His life included a series of health issues that he did not allow to define him.  He accepted and appreciated life with a simple faith in God.  His motto was “say what you mean and mean what you say.”  He was quick-witted and loved his red Chevy trucks.  He was serious when needed and always had a great sense of humor.

Tom was preceded in death by his father, Ralph (Rat); aunts, Frances and Geneva; uncle, Paul; nephew, Eric; cousins, Jim and DeWayne; sister-in-law, Sheila; father-in-law, Lee; mother-in-law, Roberta; and grand-pets, Henry dog and Alvin cat.

Services will be Thursday February 27, 2025 at Parson Mortuary at 1:00 PM.  Friends may call on the family from 11:30 AM until the time of the service.  Burial will follow at Tomlinson Cemetery.
