Wayne E. Chadwick , Sr.

Wayne E. Chadwick, Sr, 81, passed away Thursday evening, August 26, 2021, at his residence following an extended illness.  He was born on September 25, 1939 in Muncie, the son of Glenn E. Chadwick and Virginia (Grundy) Chadwick- Taylor.

Mr. Chadwick attended Burris Laboratory School and later married the love of his life Martha Louise (Powell) Chadwick on April 6, 1959 in Muncie and she preceded him in death on April 1, 2020.  Mr. Chadwick enjoyed going to flee markets and adding to his various collections of records, etc.  He was a big Elvis Presley fan and to say he followed the Cincinnati Reds is an understatement.

Survivors include, three daughters, Amy Clevenger, Susan Johnson (Paul) and Abby Thornburg (Robert), all of Muncie; one son, Wayne E. Chadwick, Jr. (Brenda Thornburg), Muncie; four grandchildren, Chad Chadwick, Coby Chadwick, Tyler Clevenger and Lindsey Chadwick (Billy), all of Muncie; six great grandchildren, Izak, Jason, Brayden, Macy and Maddy; one brother, Marshall Chadwick, Bakersfield, California; several nieces and nephews.

Besides his wife of 61 years, Martha, he is preceded in death by his parents, one daughter, Marla Chadwick; one son-in-law, Chad Clevenger; two sisters, Sharon Hernandez and Betty Coffman.

 Funeral services will be held on Friday, September 3, 2021, 1:00 P.M. at the Parson Mortuary with Pastor Michael Osborn officiating.  Cremation is to follow with burial of cremated remains on a later date at Elm Ridge Memorial Park Cemetery.

Friends may call at the Parson Mortuary on Thursday evening, September 2, 2021, from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. and again on Friday September 3, 2021, from 12:00 P.M.  until time of service.
