Wendell Robert Phipps

Wendell R. Phipps,75, went to his heavenly home Sunday evening, May 7, 2023, at the Water’s Edge Health and Rehabilitation Center following an extended illness.  He was born in Muncie on August 28, 1947, the son of Delbert and Donna (Johnson) Phipps.

Mr. Phipps graduated from Muncie Southside High School in 1966 and later worked for Ball Corporation as a Computer Analyst for 24 years prior to his retirement in 2000.   Wendell married the love of his life, Linda (Allred) Phipps on September 1, 1990, in Muncie and she survives.   He was known to be an avid hunter when possible.

Besides his wife of 32 years, Linda, he is also survived by 2 daughters, Wendy Phipps, Muncie, and Tina Allred, Vevay; 2 sons, Christopher Scott Phipps, Greenville, South Carolina and Darrell Allred, Vevay; 9 grandchildren, Brittany Cook, Megann Phipps, Mae Cook, Katie Cook, and Gracee Cook, James Allred, Kaylee Hughes, Anson Hughes, and Hunter Hughes.

His parents and 1 granddaughter, Miranda Allred, preceded him in death.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, May 15, 2023, at 2:00 P.M. at Parson Mortuary with Pastor Andrew Phipps, Sr., officiating.  Parson Mortuary Cremation Center is entrusted with these arrangements.

Friends may call Parson Mortuary on Monday, May 15, 2023, from 12:30 P.M. until the time of service.  Cremation is to follow.
