William M. Maxwell

William “Mike” Maxwell, age 68, passed away on January 27, 2026. He was born on May 7, 1957, in Muncie, Indiana, to George ‘Bill’ Maxwell and Wanda Knight-Maxwell. Mike spent his life in Parker City, Indiana, where he built a home filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories.

Mike is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 46 years, Cheryl Walburn-Maxwell, and his daughter, Kylie Maxwell, whom he absolutely adored. He is also survived by his sister, Vanessa Chapman (MS), along with several nieces, nephews, extended family members, and many longtime friends who loved him dearly.

Mike worked for GKN Aerospace/Ontario for 40 years, where he was known for his dedication, strong work ethic, and precise attention to production numbers within the factory. Over the years, Mike formed many friendships, and those who knew him best would describe him as funny, joking, and witty, with a quick sense of humor that brought laughs and joy to others.

An avid fisherman for many years, Mike had a deep love for the outdoors. One of his favorite pastimes was sharing quiet moments at home with his wife, Cheryl, watching birds, deer, and other wildlife together. Their 46 years of life, love, and adventure were a testament to their strong and enduring bond.

Above all else, Mike cherished his family. He took great pride in loving and teaching his daughter Kylie the life skills needed to be strong, smart and independent. Nothing brought him greater happiness than spending time with his wife, daughter, and beloved granddog, Jack. His girls were truly his entire world.

Mike was preceded in death by his parents, George Maxwell and Wanda Knight-Maxwell as well as a nephew, a great-niece, and several cousins.

Memorials or cherished memories may be submitted to the family. Those wishing to make a donation in Mike’s memory may do so to the funeral cost or charity of their choice. 

Funeral services will be held at Parson Mortuary on Sunday February 1, 2026 at 3:00 p.m. Visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m. until service time.
