Muncie- Adaleen, Monroe, 86, passed away Sunday, December 30, 2018, at the Golden Living Center following an extended illness. She was born on May 20, 1932 in Marion the daughter of Damon Davis and Ellabell (Case) Winans.
Adaleen attended Muncie city schools and later married the love of her life, James Monroe on December 10, 1954 and he preceded her in death in 1989. Mrs. Monroe had worked for the Ross Super Market chain, the Ball Corporation and was a temporary for Ball State University as a clerical worker. Mostly, she was a homemaker, a member of the White Shrine of Jerusalem and the Avondale United Methodist Church. She enjoyed being a social butterfly.
Surviving are four daughters, Rita J. Ashburn, Lawrenceburg, Kentucky, J. Renee Monroe (companion- Bill), Mesa, Arizona, Juliana D. Weaver (husband-Bob), New Castle and Brenda J. Rathel(husband-Jeff) Yorktown; thirteen grandchildren; thirty-five great grandchildren; five great, great grandchildren.
Besides her husband of thirty-five years, James, she is preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Clinton Rhoades.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday January 5, 2019, 1:00 P.M. at Parson Mortuary. Burial will follow at Gardens of Memory Cemetery north of Muncie.
Friends may call at Parson Mortuary on Saturday January 5, 2019 from 11:00 A.M. until time of service.
