Muncie-Carl E. Ingram, Sr. 83, went to be with The Lord early Tuesday evening, August 7, 2018, at his residence following an extended illness. He was born on April 17, 1935, in Morehead, Kentucky the son of Glenn and Lillie Mae (Rainey) Ingram, at the age of 15 he and the family had moved to Muncie.
Carl married the love of his life Dorothy (Dunlap) Ingram in 1955 and she survives. He became a truck driver for Hardesty moving and storage for 20 years and then also had driven for A&R and Stoops Trucking as well. Mr. Ingram enjoyed going to church, fishing, hunting and gardening. He had been a member of the American Legion, the Am Vets, the Teamsters Union Local #135 and the Mt. Olive Freewill Baptist Church.
Besides his wife of 63 years, Dorothy, he is survived by four sons, Johnny Earl Ingram , Sr. (Companion-Bonnie Wake), Carl Edward Ingram, Jr. (girl friend- Cindy Hammel) and Russell Owen Ingram, all of Muncie and Steven Wayne Ingram, Albany; five grandchildren, Jennifer Ingram, Albany, Johnny Ingram, Jr., , Lydia Dorton, both of Muncie and Russell Ingram, Ohio, Angie Maddox, Anderson; seven great grandchildren; five brothers, Larry Ingram (wife-Teresa), Smithfield, Roy Ingram (wife-Sharon), Springport, Robert Ingram (wife-Carla) and Lacy Ingram, both of Muncie and Lloyd Ingram (wife-Nora), Mt. Pleasant.; several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers, Charles, Glenn and Ollie Ingram.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, August 13, 2018, 1:00 P.M. at the Mt. Olive Freewill Baptist Church located at 7500 N. Wheeling Ave. Muncie, Indiana 47304, with Pastor James Olive McCowan officiating. Burial will follow at the Gardens of Memory Cemetery north of Muncie.
Friends may call at the Mt. Olive Freewill Baptist Church on Monday, August 13, 2018, from 11:00 A.M. until service time.
