Clara E. (Lynn) Phelps

Muncie-Clara E. Phelps, 95, passed away Wednesday morning, January 2, 2019, at her residence following a extended illness.  She was born on May 19, 1923 in Muncie, the daughter of Archie and Elizabeth (Herbert) Lynn.

Clara attended Muncie city schools and later married the love of her life, Charles S. Phelps Sr., on March 25, 1946 and he preceded her in death on December 11, 2011.  Mrs. Phelps had worked as owned and operated the Phelps Florations Flower Shop that specialized in artificial arrangement.  She enjoyed flowers of all types especially Sweet Heart Roses.  Clara was a member of the Northview Wesleyan Church.  Besides making floral arrangements, she enjoyed eating out and shopping.  Mostly, spending time with her family was especially treasured!

Survivors include two sons, Ronnie Phelps (wife-Carolyn), Toledo, Ohio and Charles Phelps, Jr, Losantville; one daughter, Beverly Hargrave (husband-Robert), Losantville; eight grandchildren; seventeen great grandchildren; seven great, great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

Besides her husband of sixty-five years, Charles, she is preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Elmer Lynn and one sister, Cora Stewart.       

Funeral services will be held on Monday morning, January 7, 2019, 10:00 A.M. at the Parson Mortuary with Pastors Walter Wilson and Michael Hewitt officiating.  Burial will follow at the Tomlinson Cemetery.          

Friends may call at the Parson Mortuary on Sunday, afternoon January 6, 2019 from 3:00 P.M. until 6:00 P.M. and again on Monday, January 7, 2019 from 9:00 A.M. service time.
