Clara "Sis" Shingleton Obituary

Clara Alene (Helton) Shingleton, 87, known as “Sis” to family and friends, passed away Monday May 14, 2018 at Golden Living Center-Muncie, Indiana. She was born on November 24, 1930 in McCreary County, Kentucky to George and Mary (Jones) Helton.

Alene was a member of the Full Gospel Temple Worship Center and the Joy Group at Full Gospel Temple. She enjoyed going to church and traveling with the Joy Group.

Alene is survived by her children, two sons, Pastor Guinn Shingleton (Karen) of Florida and Scott Shingleton of Nevada, a daughter Sherri Armstrong (Steve) of Arizona; one brother, Pastor Denny Helton (Wanda) of Muncie; two sisters, Faye Hornback of Muncie, Shirley Neely of Muncie; four grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, one great-great grandchild, several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Alene was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Elmo J. (Jack) Shingleton, a sister, Maxine Helton, and a brother, Rev. James H. Helton.

A funeral service for Alene will be held at Full Gospel Temple 212 W. 7th Street Muncie Indiana on Tuesday May 22, 2018 at 1:00 PM with Rev. H. Denny Helton officiating. Burial will follow at the Gardens of Memory Cemetery. Friends may call at the church from 11 AM until the time of service.
