Donna M. (Minnick) Pittenger

Muncie-Donna M. Pittenger, 91, passed away Wednesday morning, December 5, 2018, at the Indiana University Health Ball Memorial Hospital following a brief illness.  She was born on, August 10, 1927, in Middletown, the daughter of Glenn and Myra (Fadely) Minnick.

Donna is a 1946 graduate of Muncie Central High School and later married the love of her life, G. Rex Pittenger on August 26, 1949 and he survives.  Mrs. Pittenger retired in 1988 as an Assistant Vice President from Muncie Federal Savings and Loan after 30 years of service.  After retirement she continued to work on a part time basis for the Muncie Federal Savings and Loan and the American National Bank. She was a member of the Riverside United Methodist Church where she was a member of the Builders Class and the Martha Circle.  Donna is a former member and past President of the Muncie Altrusa and had volunteered at the Ball Memorial Hospital.

Besides her husband of 69 years, Rex, she is survived by her daughter, Beth Larsen (Angie Nichols), Muncie; one granddaughter, Holly Kappes, Muncie; one great grandson, Carter Kappes, Muncie; one sister, Janet Hammond, Muncie; several nieces and nephews; special friends, Christina Whitted and Trevor Whitted, Muncie.

She is preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Donald and Glenn Minnick.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, December 10, 2018, 1:00 P.M. at the Parson Mortuary, with Pastor John A. Young officiating.  Burial will follow at the Gardens of Memory Cemetery north of Muncie. 

Friends may call at the Parson Mortuary on Sunday, December 9, 2018, from 2:00 P.M. to 4:00 P.M. and again, on Monday, December 10, 2018 from 12:00 P.M. until time of service.
