Muncie-Eda Lee (Edie) McDonald, 91, passed away early Thursday morning, January 3, 2019, at her residence following an extended illness. She was born on July 30, 1927 in Jamestown, Tennessee the daughter of Earl and Elva (Tinch) Brannon.
Edie attended Jamestown city schools and later married the love of her life Walter McDonald on July 19, 1947 in Rossville, Georgia and he preceded her in death on January 6, 1997. Mrs. McDonald had worked as a Custodian for Ball State University for 26 years prior to her retirement in 1996. She was a member of the Jackson Park Baptist Church, the Ball State University Sympathy Club and enjoyed going to flea markets.
Survivors include four daughters, Betty Ison (husband-Tom) Selma, Anna Gayheart (husband-Michael), Rock Island, Tennessee, Leda Keesling (husband-Steven), Sebring, Florida and Anita McKee (husband-Michael), Muncie; one son, Larry McDonald (wife-Carol), Muncie; several grandchildren, great grandchildren and great, great grandchildren; one sister, Marjorie Ward, Muncie; several nieces and nephews.
Besides her husband of 50 years, Walter, she is preceded in death by her parents; one granddaughter, Amy Gayheart Stefanski in 2014; one sister Ina Brannon; her parents-in-law, William and Dorothy McDonald.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, January 7, 2019, 1:00 P.M. at the Parson Mortuary with Pastor Steve Dugger officiating. Burial will follow at the Gardens of Memory Cemetery north of Muncie.
