Max Morton, 74, passed away at I.U. Ball Memorial Hospital in Muncie on August 11, 2018, with his family by his side. He was born in Upland, Indiana on August 10, 1944 to Harold and Ada (Clevenger) Morton.
Max worked for the City of Muncie at Beechgrove Cemetery for over 20 years. Max enjoyed fishing and drawing, building model airplanes.
Max is survived by three daughters Angela Stocker (Jesse), Kendra Childers (Jeremy Smokewood) and Beth Ann Hollowell (Gary), a son William “Bill” Briggs (Delena), two sisters; Nancy Miller and Deanna Morton, two brothers; Danny and Rick Morton, 9 grandchildren; Aaron and Kala Briggs, Riley, Bentley and Kinsley Smokewood, and Tabatha Prater; Daniel and Heather, and Kristen, 6 great grandchildren; and 2 great-great grandchildren.
Max is preceded in death by his parents, his wife of 22 years, Sharon Morton, two brothers John and Bob Morton, two grandchildren; Christopher and Justin Wilson.
A graveside service for Max will be held at The Olive Branch Cemetery, located at 20522 N Co Rd 450 West 18 Upland, IN 46989, on Wednesday, August 15, 2018 at 1:00 pm with Rev. William “Bill” Briggs officiating. Online condolences may be made at www.parsonmortuary.com
