Van Ewing Obituary

Van Leo Ewing, 74, passed away on Saturday, September 29, 2018 at Westminster Village in Muncie. He was born on April 08, 1944 to William and Rosalie (Weekley) Ewing in Parker City, Indiana.

Van graduated from Parker High School and then went on to work for General Motors. He retired after 30 years at the factory.

Van enjoyed winters in Florida, taking his pontoon out to the Prairie Creek Reservoir and spending time with family and friends. He was an avid golfer and sports enthusiast.

Van is survived by his three children: two daughters: Hope Ewing  (Lynn) of Greenwood and Nicole Ewing of Mt. Dora Florida, a son: Tyler Ewing (Mary), a sister Pamela Ewing, a brother-in-law: Jim Hottinger (Jeanne), a special friend Judith Hines, 5 grandchildren: Darien Holtman, Brody Holtman, Hudson Ewing, Ella Ewing and Clara Ewing, two nieces: Shari Gillooley and Jessica Braun, and many wonderful friends too numerous to mention.

Van is preceded in death by his parents, his wife of 49 years, Sandra (Hottinger) Ewing, a brother William “Bill” Ewing, two nephews: Joseph Hottinger and Billy Frank Ewing.

A celebration of life for Van will be held at Amvets Post #12(Royerton), 7621 IN-3, Muncie Indiana 47303, on Saturday, October 13, 2018 at 3:00-8:00 pm.

The family would like to thank the staff and nurses at Westminster Village and Kindred Hospice for their special care of Van.
