Clara Jane Brown

Clara Jane Brown, 68, went to her heavenly home Tuesday evening, May 9, 2023, at her residence following an extended illness.  She was born on November 17, 1954, in Muncie the daughter of James and Clarabell (Burnett) Reffitt.

Clara married the love of her life, William D. Brown on December 14, 1974, and he preceded her in death in 2011.  Mrs. Brown had worked for Indiana University Ball Memorial Hospital for 30 years prior to her retirement in 2019 in the Guest Relations Dept.  She was known to be the smiling face and calming voice that greeted you at the door.  She was a member of the Full Gospel Worship Center, loved shopping, and would hunt for bargains where ever she could find them.   Clara enjoyed spending time with her family and giving them rides in her convertible.  In fact, she and her sisters along with their mother became “The Golden Girls”.

She is survived by one son, David Campbell (Ashley) Benton, Louisiana; one daughter, Clara L. Brown (companion- Timothy Skinner), Muncie; 3 grandchildren, Georgia Haneline, Chloe Campbell, and Duke Campbell all of Benton, Louisiana; 1 sister, Penny Reffitt, Muncie; 3 brothers, James Reffitt (Cathy), Gaston, Pastor Albert Reffitt (Kimberly), Englewood, Ohio, and Billy Joe Reffitt (companion- Trish), Muncie; several nieces and nephews.

Besides her husband of 37 years, William, she was preceded in death by her parents; 1 sister, Mary Lou Stark.

Funeral services will be held at the Full Gospel Temple Worship Center on Thursday, May 18, 2023, at 1:00 P.M. with Pastors Denny and John Helton and Albert Reffitt officiating.  Burial will follow at the Gardens of Memory Cemetery north of Muncie.

Friends may call at the Full Gospel Temple Worship Center, 212 W. 7th St. Muncie, IN 47302 on Thursday, May 18, 2023, from 11:00 A.M. until the time of service.

Memorial contributions may be made to Victory Life Christian Center in Xenia, Ohio.
