Dessie Mae Conley

Dessie Conley, 89, passed away Thursday afternoon, July 15, 2021 at her residence following an extended illness.  She was born on January 21, 1932 in Pine Knot, Kentucky the daughter of Virgil and Sallie (Perkins) Ramsey.

Dessie married the love of her life, James Conley on October 31, 1953 in Muncie and he survives.  Mrs. Conley became a homemaker and was a member of the Burlington Drive Freewill Baptist Church.   She cherished being a mother and grandmother.  Taking care of her household was very important to her.

Besides her husband of 67 years, James, she is survived by two sons, Jeffery Conley, Anderson and Steve Conley (Gail), Richmond; one daughter, Pam Nixon (Jim), Muncie; three grandchildren, Christy Shipley (Tony), Muncie, Scott Simmons (Ashley), Daleville and Jason Conley; seven great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; one brother, Ernest Ramsey (Sue), Muncie; one sister, Ruth Ann Thompson, Huntsville, Tennessee.

She is preceded in death by her parents; two brothers and four sisters.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, July 20, 2021, 1:00 P.M. at the Parson Mortuary with Pastor Carl Norris officiating.  Burial will follow at the Gardens of Memory Cemetery north of Muncie.    

Friends may call at the Parson Mortuary on Monday, July 19, 2021 from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. and again on Tuesday, July 20, 2021 from 12:00 P.M. until time of service.
